Sawyer Fredericks Takes Soulful Sound on Hide Your Ghost Tour

Growing up in central New York State, Sawyer Fredericks started his music career at an open mic night when he was 12 years old, leading him to perform at local farmers’ markets and iconic New York venues.

Ready to take his career to the next level, Fredericks auditioned for season eight of the popular reality talent show, NBC’s The Voice in 2015. After his win, Fredericks signed a contract with Republic Records, releasing a self-titled EP and a full album, A Good Storm, in 2016. Learning to spread his wings, the singer/songwriter has taken to his songwriting artistry by not only writing, but producing his entire sophomore album, Hide Your Ghost.

Although young, this 18-year-old has taken the music industry by storm with his unique vocals and emotional storytelling. Don’t miss Sawyer Fredericks on Saturday, November 11th, 1 p.m. at Rams Head On Stage as part of his Hide Your Ghost Tour.

Finding His Groove: Jamie McLean Talks New Beginnings and New Music

In 2006, Jamie McLean decided it was time for a change. He made the choice to leave the Dirty Dozen Brass Band and start Jamie McLean Band.

The band, which also features Brian Griffin on drums and Ben Mars on bass, is set to release their sixth album One and Only in February 2018. Aside from including some of McLean’s best songwriting to date, the new album also features special guests Sam Bush and Jeff Coffin. With a musical blend of rock, soul, and blues, Jamie McLean Band gives listeners originality that is guaranteed to make you groove.

Jamie McLean Band will be playing with Davy Knowles on Wednesday, November 8th, 8 p.m. at Rams Head On Stage.

The What's Up? Weekend Rundown

Annapolis by Candlelight
Friday, November 3rd and Saturday, November 4th, 5–9 p.m.
A crisp autumn evening is the perfect time to walk through one of the historic neighborhoods of Annapolis during Annapolis by Candlelight. The experience is even better when the doors to some of the homes are open and you are invited inside. Visitors see how Annapolitans care for and live in buildings built in the 20th, 19th, or 18th century. Each house is a reminder of the rich architectural and cultural heritage of Maryland’s capital city and illustrates the benefits of effective historic preservation.

Annapolis Wedding Market
Friday, November 3rd, 6:30–9:30 p.m.
From the DIY planners to the literally-I-have-no-time planners, the Annapolis Wedding Market has something for everyone. Located in the heart of Annapolis, this event will feature over 30 of the area’s best wedding vendors, food samplings, happy hour, and a Bridal Boutique showcasing wedding dresses.

The Del McCoury Band
Friday, November 3rd, 6:30 p.m. & 9:30 p.m.
For more than fifty years, Del McCoury's music has defined authenticity for hard core bluegrass fans as well as a growing number of fans among those only vaguely familiar with the genre. McCoury is something special, a living link to the days when bluegrass was made only in hillbilly honkytonks, schoolhouse shows and on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry, yet also a commandingly vital presence today, from prime time and late-night talk show TV to music festivals where audiences number in the hundreds of thousands. Del might be 78, but he's singing better than ever and showing no signs of slowing down.

Little Women
Friday, November 3rd, 8 p.m. & Sunday, November 5th, 3 p.m.
Based on Louisa May Alcott’s beloved novel, Little Women tells the story of four sisters who confront growing pains, tragedies, and romance as they struggle to find their way through life after the civil war. American composer Mark Adamo attracted national attention with his highly successful opera début. This powerful story of growing up and growing apart is entering its 20th year as one of the most frequently performed American operas.

Friday, November 3rd & Saturday, November 4th, 8 p.m.
Neverwhere is a play about the mystical world of “London Below” from the imagination of the same author who gave us Stardust, Coraline, Good Omens, The Sandman, and the currently-running TV series American Gods. The extraordinarily unremarkable Richard Mayhew falls between the cracks of reality when he gives aid to an unconscious young woman who he finds on the street. Together, their small band of outlandish characters battle monsters, mazes, and deadly assassins as they work to restore Richard to ‘London Above’ and save the young woman from the fantastical forces that are after her.

Dirty Heads
Thursday, November 2nd, 8 p.m.
After two decades spent chiseling their unique, multi-genre infused sound, Dirty Heads have finally come into their own. Since the release of their 2008 debut Any Port in a Storm, the five-piece band has consistently experimented with their sunny style, leaning heavily on reggae fused with hip-hop cornerstones and scaling back for more acoustic fare, darting between extremes. But it’s with their fifth and self-titled album that the group has felt fully confident in a body of work, ready to bring their unique style to the masses.
