It’s that time of year again! Dust off your lucky jersey, and get ready for another great season of football. The season officially begins tonight at 8:20 p.m. when the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles face off against the Atlanta Falcons. On Sunday, the Baltimore Ravens host the Buffalo Bills at 1 p.m. at M&T Bank Stadium, and the Washington Redskins will take on the Arizona Cardinals at 4:45 p.m. in Arizona. If you’re looking for the best place to catch the games, look no further! Head to a local bar or restaurant and enjoy delicious food and drink specials while you cheer on your favorite team.

Arts Alive 20 – Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts

Friday, September 7th, 6–10 p.m.

Enjoy an evening on Bourbon Street where you will be immersed in the tastes and sounds that are true to the French Quarter of New Orleans. Arts Alive 20, Maryland Hall’s annual fundraiser, will take place entirely in a “tent under the stars” where you can mix and mingle, enjoy great food and wine, bid on items in our extensive silent auction and of course, listen to true New Orleans Jazz that will keep your toes tapping all night! Don’t forget to enjoy one of our Bourbon Street specialty cocktails!


Maryland Seafood Festival – Sandy Point State Park

Saturday, September 8th and Sunday, September 9th, 10 a.m.–9 p.m. 

Celebrate over 50 years of food and fun at Sandy Point State Park with a weekend full of delicious seafood dishes, interactive cooking demonstrations, exciting competitions, kids’ activities and more! While you sample all of our tasty offerings, enjoy all of our maritime related exhibits, contests, and activities. The Maryland Seafood Festival also hosts loads of local shopping and vendor options, a fantastic beverage selection with lots of local craft beer and wine, and tons of kids’ activities, all hosted along the beautiful shores of the scenic Chesapeake Bay.


Navy vs. Memphis – Navy-Marine Corps Stadium

Saturday, September 8th, 3:30 p.m.

Come out to the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium and cheer on the Navy football team as they take on Memphis during the midshipmen’s first home game of the season.


Second Annual Annapolis Pancreatic Cancer Walk – Susan B. Campbell Park

Sunday, September 9th, 8 a.m. 

Help raise awareness, increase research funding, and honor those impacted by pancreatic cancer. The two-mile walk around the city will be followed by live music, food, and activities for the whole family.


Get The Led Out – Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts

Sunday, September 9th, 8 p.m.

From the bombastic and epic, to the folky and mystical, Get The Led Out (GTLO) have captured the essence of the recorded music of Led Zeppelin and brought it to the concert stage. The Philadelphia-based group consists of six veteran musicians intent on delivering Led Zeppelin live like you’ve never heard before.

Chestertown Jazz Festival – Downtown Chestertown

Thursday, September 6th through Monday, September 10th, 9 a.m.

Enjoy four exciting days of jazz and blues music at the Chestertown Jazz Festival, taking place at five great locations: Garfield Center for the Arts, The Mainstay, Sumner Hall, Wilmer Park, and Crow Vineyard & Winery. 


National Folk Festival – Downtown Salisbury

Friday, September 7th through Sunday, September 9th, 10 a.m.

The 78th National Fold Festival will feature over 350 of the nation’s finest traditional performers and crafts people, 7 stages of continuous music and dance, craft exhibits and demonstrations, a festival marketplace, family activities, and delicious regional and ethnic foods. The Festival embraces the heritage and traditions of all Americans – from those whose families have been here for millennia to those recently arrived on our shores.


Boating Party Fundraising Gala – Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, St. Michaels

Saturday, September 8th, 5–10:30 p.m.

Join the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum for its signature fall gala fundraiser. Enjoy an evening of cocktails, dinner, and dancing under the tents on Navy Point. Funds raised supports CBMM’s mission to inspire an understanding of and appreciation for the rich maritime heritage of the Chesapeake Bay and its tidal reaches, together with the artifacts, cultures, and connections between the place and its people. 


Western Shore

Ravens Countdown to Kickoff – Maryland State Fairgrounds, Timonium

Friday, September 7th, 5 p.m.

The Baltimore Ravens' 2018 Countdown to Kickoff Party, presented by Miller Lite, will feature live performances by Third Eye Blind and The Struts. Attendees will also enjoy appearances by current and former Ravens players, Ravens Cheerleaders, Playmakers, and Poe. 


Stefanie Ashdown Memorial "Do Your Best" 5k & 1 Mile Walk – Belvedere Elementary School, Arnold

Saturday, September 8th, 8–11 a.m.

Stef Ripple hosts its second annual Stephanie Ashdown Memorial "Do Your Best" 5K & 1-Mile Walk. Proceeds benefit the Stef Ripple foundation and its mission to help ovarian cancer patients and their families. 


2018 Nation's Escape Triathlon – West Potomac Park, Washington, D.C. 

Sunday, September 9th, 7 a.m.–2:30 p.m.

More than 2,000 triathletes will take over the capitol of the United States, for the 2018 Nation’s Escape Triathlon. This year will mark the 13th year of this annual event, which includes an elite field of professional athletes competing for a $20,000 prize purse. The sprint distance race will feature a 750m swim, a 26K bike ride and a 5k run, along the same course. The Nation’s Escape Triathlon is recognized as a bucket list race for triathletes, featuring one of the only opportunities for athletes to swim in the Potomac River and through DC’s historical landmarks.
