Hoot & Hack Golf Tournament – Eisenhower Golf Club

Friday, September 14th, 9 a.m.–6 p.m.

Join the Herald Harbor Citizens Association for its inaugural Hoot and Hack Scramble Golf Tournament. Registration includes breakfast and lunch, two beer tickets, and unlimited water, tea, lemonade, and coffee. After the tournament, head to the after party at Herald Harbor Hideaway.


The Wendi Winters Memorial Blood Drive – Wiley H. Bates Middle School

Saturday, September 15th, 10 a.m.–4 p.m.

Wendi Winters was one of the victims of The Gazette shooting. She was known to be a tireless volunteer at her church, the Unitarian Universalist Church of Annapolis, whether it be leading youth groups or organizing the bi-annual blood drive. In her honor and with the support of her family, the church and the American Red Cross will be hosting the first Wendi Winters Memorial Blood Drive.


Hospice Cup XXXVII – Bert Jabin’s Yacht Yard

Saturday, September 15th, 11 a.m.

Raise sails, funds, and awareness for hospice care at one of the best charity regattas around. Whether you’re a veteran sailor or just learning the ropes, Hospice Cup offers options for various skill levels. Non-sailors can enjoy watching the race from the decks of a beautiful charter boat. After the races, celebrate the winning sailors and fundraisers at the Hospice Cup Shore Party beginning at 5 p.m. Enjoy live music from The Shatners, great food from Paul’s Homewood Café, cool and unique auction items, and plenty of cold drinks.


AMMP Hurricane Party – Annapolis Maritime Museum

9th Annual Run/Walk to Break the Silence on Ovarian Cancer – Westfield Annapolis Mall

Sunday, September 16th, 7 a.m.

The Central Maryland Chapter of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition invites members of the community to join them on for the ninth annual 5K run and 3K walk to Break the Silence on Ovarian Cancer. The race will begin at Westfield Annapolis Mall at 9 a.m., with registration beginning at 7 a.m. The event raises funds to promote awareness, fight for a cure, and improve the quality of life for survivors.


Eastern Shore

 Academy Art Museum 60th Birthday Party and Annual Meeting

Saturday, September 15th, 11 a.m.–4 p.m.

The Academy Art Museum hosts its 60th Birthday Party and Annual Members’ Meeting. The event will feature a public art project with artist Julie Vogl whose social sculptures incorporate public engagement, architectural interventions and color. She will unveil the public art project in the Museum’s Courtyard during the Museum’s Birthday Party. 


Bingomania – Wicomico Youth & Civic Center, Salisbury

Saturday, September 15th, 5–10 p.m.

Bingomania, the Eastern Shore’s largest bingo cash prize event, returns to the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center. Admission to Bingomania includes all regular and special games, including the Jumbo Jackpot Game. Regular game payouts are $500, while special games will pay out $1,000. The Jumbo Jackpot Game pays a maximum of $10,000.  All proceeds benefit the Mardela Middle and High School Bands.

Legendary songwriter, recording artist and performer Paul Simon has announced the final leg of Homeward Bound – The Farewell Tour. Since his beginnings as one half of the folk-rock duo Simon & Garfunkel, Paul Simon has continued to build a distinguished career as a singer and songwriter. The 12-time Grammy Award winner was the recipient of the Kennedy Center Honors in 2002, was named one of Time Magazine’s “100 People Who Shape Our World” in 2006, and is a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame.
