Election Day is less than a week away! Check out the tips below and make sure you’re prepared before you hit the polls on November 6th. 

Know who and what is on your ballot: Before deciding who to vote for, make sure you know your options. 

Research candidates: Still not sure who to vote for? There’s still plenty of time to learn about the candidates. Check out the candidate’s websites and read election previews by local papers and news channels, like this Gubernatorial Election Preview by What’s Up? 

Go Vote! Polling places are open 7 a.m.–8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 6th.

Annapolis by Candlelight – William Paca House and Garden

Join the Senior Dog Sanctuary for its first ever Senior Stroll. Browse local vendors, have delicious food, and enjoy a leisurely stroll as the sanctuary kicks off the beginning of Adopt-A-Senior Month while raising money to care for their seniors!


Militia Muster – Historic London Town and Gardens, Edgewater

Saturday, November 3rd and Sunday, November 4th, 10 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

November kicks off with a bang when Oldton’s Baltemore Rangers return to London Town. Representing early Maryland Militia, the Rangers come to live in the town over the weekend so they can drill, cook their food over hearth fires, and talk to you.


21st Annual Tug of War – Annapolis City Dock

Saturday, November 3rd, 12 p.m.

Join the City of Annapolis and Eastport for some friendly and fearsome competition during the 21st Annual Tug of War. Help your fellow Annapolitans and “Eastport-O-Ricans” tug their way to victory during this “slaughter across the water” at Spa Creek. The event will also feature live entertainment, a chili cookoff, a silent auction, and plenty of food and beverages.


2018 Fish For A Cure 

Saturday, November 3rd

Fish for a day and party for a night, all for a great cause. Get out on the water for Fish For A Cure’s 12th annual Fishing Tournament, followed by the Shore Party at the Annapolis Marriott Waterfront Hotel. F4AC raises funds for AAMC’s Geaton and JoAnn DeCesaris Cancer Institute, supporting vital programs that directly benefit cancer patients.


CASAblanca Gala 2018 – Westin Annapolis Hotel

Saturday, November 3rd, 6–11 p.m.

Anne Arundel County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), Inc. will celebrate 21 years of service to abused and neglected children with CASAblanca ~ Helping Foster Children Weather The Storm at the Westin Annapolis Hotel. This premier black-tie event will be attended by a wide-array of the most prominent, civic-minded members of our community. Festivities will include dining, dancing, and both a silent and live auction.


Across the Bay 10K

Sunday, November 4th, 5 a.m.

The most exciting 10k to come online in years! Don’t miss out on the chance to run or walk over the Chesapeake Bay. A beloved Maryland tradition is back in a new, exciting format! This 10 kilometer, 6.2 mile point-to-point course will take runners over the eastbound span of the 4.35 mile long Chesapeake Bay Bridge, which reaches 186 feet at its tallest point.

Wet and Wild Auction – Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center, Grasonville

Friday, November 2nd, 6–9 p.m.

Join the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center for its annual Wet and Wild Auction. The event includes cocktails, buffet dinner, live music, and silent/live auction! Oyster Jam & Brew Festival – Phillips Wharf Environmental Center, Tilghman

The Oyster Jam & Brew Festival will feature oysters from all over the state of Maryland giving you the opportunity to taste the differences between oysters grown in areas of the Bay and its estuaries. There will also be seven craft breweries offering 14 different beers.

Join Haven Ministries for Beef, Bonfires & Cigars. This event, benefitting Haven Ministries, offers a night of food and spirit samplings from several restaurants and caterers in the region. Guests will also enjoy live music, vendors, and cigars.
