Whether you’re looking for a late night with friends, or a lowkey evening with family, say goodbye to 2018 and ring in the new year at one of these great events.
Thursday, December 27th through Monday, December 31st, 5–10 p.m.
Head to Sandy Point State Park for the final weekend of Lights on the Bay, hosted by the SPCA of Anne Arundel County. The light show is a 2-mile scenic drive along the shore of the Chesapeake Bay with more than 60 spectacular animated and stationary displays illuminating the roadways.
Monday, December 31st, 9 a.m.
The world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales will continue their tradition of headlining the Military Bowl Parade to kick off gameday prior to this year’s game at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Kick off your New Year festivities as thousands of spectators are expected to line the streets as the parade steps off from City Dock before winding its way through historic downtown Annapolis en route to the stadium.
Monday, December 31st, 12 p.m.
The Military Bowl, presented by Northrop Grumman, kicks off for the 11th year. The Military Bowl serves as a premier regional event benefiting the USO and other organizations supporting members of the Armed Forces and their families.
Monday, December 31st, 3 p.m.
Family activities fill the day and music and dancing fills the night at this annual celebration welcoming the New Year. Kids’ activities will take place with activities that include face painting, an obstacle course, moon bounces and live music. The festivities wrap up with on-site fireworks for the kids, then, it’s off to area restaurants for dinner with the kids. The second round of festivities includes live music and dancing at Susan Campbell Park at City Dock.

See how Ocean City, MD sparkles during the final weekend of the Winterfest of Lights! You'll find more than one million holiday lights and hundreds of animated lights displays throughout Northside Park. Relax and sip hot chocolate in the heated Winterfest Village pavilion, take a photo with Santa, and board the Winterfest Express to tour fairy tale-themed exhibits. The one-mile journey takes you through 58 acres of lights and features a 50-foot Christmas tree.

In its 38th year, the Governor’s Challenge basketball tournament, sponsored by The Bank of Delmarva, will bring 120 teams to the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center and surrounding venues. It’s the largest holiday basketball tournament in the country.

Ring in the new year and celebrate the arts during First Night Talbot. This family-friendly, alcohol-free event takes place at five indoor venues in downtown Easton, and features a variety of festivities, including two crab drops.

Don’t miss the final weekend of the 2018 Symphony of Lights, a drive-through spectacle of more than 100 larger-than-life holiday light displays. Light displays, both animated and stationary, glow with a total of 300,000 LED lights on a 1-mile scenic drive through downtown Columbia. Symphony of Lights benefits Howard County General Hospital.
