January 2019 Music Preview: Four Great Shows Coming to Maryland This Month

2019 is officially here, and Maryland music lovers get to look forward to another great year of live music. Kick off the new year by enjoying a concert at one of the many awesome local venues. Here are a few of the great shows coming to the area this month:


Lake Street Dive: Rams Head Live, Baltimore, January 3rd

Since forming in 2004, pop-soul/funk band Lake Street Dive’s innovative songwriting and dynamic live performances have earned them a loyal and growing fan base. After a successful year of performances in support of their newest album, Free Yourself Up, the band has decided to extend their tour into 2019. Lake Street Dive will be performing at Rams Head Live! tonight, January 3rd, 8 p.m. Tickets are $38 and available here


Justin Timberlake: Capital One Arena, D.C., January 4th

A former member of the ’90s boy band *NSYNC, Justin Timberlake has become one of the most popular musicians of the 21st century. Following the success of his highly anticipated album Man of the Woods and his Pepsi Super Bowl LII Halftime Show performance, Timberlake announced a second leg to his North American tour. The 10-time Grammy Award-winning artist will bring “The Man of the Woods” tour to Capital One Arena on Friday, January 4th, 7:30 p.m. Ticket prices vary and can be purchased here.


Dan Navarro: Avalon Theatre, Easton, January 11th

Dan Navarro started his music career as a songwriter for several acclaimed musicians, including Pat Benatar, The Bangles, Jackson Browne, Dionne Warwick, and the Temptations. In the 1990s and 2000s, Navarro toured with Eric Lowen as half of the acoustic duo Lowen & Navarro. Since Lowen’s retirement in 2009, Navarro has continued recording and touring nationally as a solo artist. Dan Navarro will be performing at the Stoltz Listening Room in Easton on Friday, January 11th, 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $30 and available here


G. Love & Special Sauce: Rams Head on Stage, Annapolis, January 29th

Formed in 1992, Philadelphia-based G. Love & Special Sauce is known for their unique, laid-back, “trashcan blues” sound. The band is kicking off the new year with a new tour, a continuation of the band’s 25th anniversary celebration. “The Sauce Tour: A Celebration of 25 Years” comes to Rams Head on Stage Tuesday, January 29th, 8 p.m. Tickets are $47.50 and available here
