Wharfside Bar and Grille to Change Ownership The Wharfside Bar and Grille, located in Edgewater, will soon be getting a new look, a new name and a new owner. Owners Sandy and Rick Sargent have turned the location over to their sun, Chad. He will reopen the restaurant as Chad’s BBQ in early June.
The Steakhouse Back Under Original Ownership The Steakhouse, a South River Colony restaurant, is back under its original ownership. When it opened in 2003, the steakhouse was owned by George Jones and Brock Anderson. They sold the restaurant in January of 2008 but rebought it on April 3. The menu remains the same however the restaurant will undergo a name change, soon to known as “The All-American Steakhouse and Sports Theater”.
Carrol’s Creek Cafe Wins Award Carrol’s Creek Cafe, located in Annapolis, received the Restaurant Association of Maryland’s “Hospitality Hall of Honor” award. The restaurant is known for their brunch, lunch and dinner menu and feature a wide selection of fresh seafood. The award recognized Maryland restaurants that “embody the spirit of the hospitality industry”.
Kilwin’s Officially Open For Business Kilwin’s a new ice cream and candy shop, is officially open in the Waugh Chapel Town Centre. Karen and David Kilmore opened this franchise location of the treat shop near the movie theater. Kilwin’s offers premium ice cream as well as fudge, caramel apples and chocolates. All treats, with the exception of ice cream, are made on site.
Jake’s Steaks Closes for Business Jake’s Steaks, an establishment in the South River Colony Marketplace, is closing. Barb Gossett, manager of the establishment, has cited a lack of business as a reason for the close. This Edgewater restaurant has been in business for more than 12 years.
Bier House May Open in Annapolis Gavin Buckley and Jody Danek, owners of Lemongrass in Annapolis, are hoping to open a new eatery. To be called Bier House, the restaurant would serve Belgian beers and other fare. They are currently seeking an investment partner but construction could start this summer.
Bistro St. Michael's Re-Opens Bistro St. Michael's, located at 403 South Talbot Street, reopened its doors for guests on March 22. The restaurant closed in 2012 but is now opening its doors again under the ownership of Robert A. W. Pascal. The Bistro is currently open for dinner Thursday through Monday but plans on extending their hours and menu in May to include lunch as well as Sunday brunch.
Sweet Hearts Patisserie Turns One Sweet Hearts Patisserie, located in Annapolis, turned on this past week. The sweet spot, known for their cakes, confections and macarons, is run by Kristen D’Angelo, pastry chef and owner. The bakery celebrated with a three layer anniversary cake.

Micro-brewery to open in Cambridge. Realerevival Brewing is set to open in Cambridge. The brewery, run by JT Merryweather, is set to open sometime in the summer. The brewery will also feature a tasting room and will brew their own beers on site. A new bill allowing micro-brews in Dorchester County will make the brewery a reality.
