Kite Festival Coincides with Cherry Blossom Fest
The 42nd Annual Smithsonian Kite Festival: Brush Strokes in the Sky will take place on March 29 all day (10 a.m.–4 p.m.) at the grounds of the Washington Monument in D.C. There will be kite displays and many activities for all ages, including competitions in kite design and aerial performance. Kids and adults can build their own kites at home and enter them in the home design competition or compete in the Hot Tricks Showdown, as well as the traditional Rokkaku Battle. There will also be demonstration booths on Chinese kite making and the history of dragon kites. This is a fun event for the whole family! Visit
