Virginia-based Robin and Linda Williams are known for their rich harmonies and original songwriting rooted in the country/bluegrass/gospel tradition. They have gained national prominence on Garrison Keillor’s “A Prairie Home Companion,” as one half of The Hopeful Gospel Quartet as well as performing their own music on the show. (Yes, they were in the movie. Listen for them on the Oct. 24th show). Favorites of fans and promoters alike, they have crisscrossed the continent (and beyond) for more than three decades, performing the tunes they love & a hearty blend of bluegrass, folk, old-time and acoustic country. From The Grand Ole Opry to Austin City Limits, Music City Tonight to Mountain Stage, clubs, festivals and countless other venues, Robin and Linda never cease to wow audiences wherever they go. Robin plays guitar and Linda plays guitar and banjo. Their Fine Group also includes Jim Watson, a founding and long-time member of the legendary Red Clay Ramblers, on bass and vocals and Jimmy Gaudreau, who was a member of The Country Gentlemen and Chesapeake on mandolin.
