Update on Annapolis Grill

Oct 11, 2010 ● By Anonymous

I just checked in with Bob Slade, co-owner of the coming Annapolis Grill at Park Place. While the restaurant, located where Morton's Steakhouse used to be, was scheduled to open during the first half of October, Slade tells me that they're now looking at a Nov. 8 opening date.

Brats, Steins, and Schnitzel, Oh My!

Oct 10, 2010 ● By Anonymous

Fado's Oktoberfest celebration is still a week away, but I feel the need to share with you ahead of time so you can prepare. I've gotten a lot of information about various Oktoberfest celebrations in the past couple weeks, but this one definitely sounds like it tops most of them—as they call it, it's the "ultimate Oktoberfest experience."

Salisbury's first good beer festival

Oct 08, 2010 ● By Anonymous

I get to go to an event tomorrow that I'm really excited about. It's my last weekend living in Salisbury—yes, I have spent the past two months driving from Salisbury to Annapolis three days a week, but I'm moving to the Western Shore on Sunday—and I'm commemorating it by attending the first Good Beer Festival at Pemberton Park. I clearly did not get enough beer at last weekend's Chesapeake Beer Madness (go vote for your favorites!), I'm going to make up for it here.

Working Lunch: Punk's Backyard Grill

Oct 05, 2010 ● By Anonymous

Welcome to Working Lunch. Each week we’ll review a restaurant in Annapolis or on the Eastern Shore from the perspective of nine-to-fivers getting lunch in the middle of their workday. Hence, pace and cost will be factored differently than you’d expect from a typical restaurant review, which is usually from the perspective of a dinner experience. A few weeks ago, a colleague told me about a restaurant attached to the Annapolis Mall that was just like eating outside -- but it was inside. It intrigued me, so I grabbed events editor Emily Wilson and we headed over for lunch.

Philly Flash opens in Annapolis Towne Center

Sep 29, 2010 ● By Anonymous

A new restaurant has opened its doors in the Annapolis Towne Centre at Parole, this one being Philly Flash. You might have visited the restaurant's first location at 1901 West Street; the second outpost opened to the public at 11 a.m. today. Web Content Specialist Alexx Weincek and I stopped by last night for the restaurant's Media reception and tried a cheesesteak off the menu. Delicious!

St. Michaels' Town Dock restaurant closed due to fire

Sep 20, 2010 ● By Anonymous

Some bad news out of St. Michaels—A fire last Wednesday damaged Town Dock, forcing it to close for anywhere from a couple weeks to a month. The fire began when kitchen rags caught fire on the front dock, with flames spreading to the restaurant's kitchen around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15. There were no injuries. The manager hopes the restaurant will reopen within a month. To find out when Town Dock reopens, keep checking back here or at Town Dock's website.

Eat out at The Narrows Restaurant for a good cause

Sep 20, 2010 ● By Anonymous

I love going out for dinner, so it's always nice when there's an extra incentive. The Narrows Restaurant, located at 3023 Kent Narrows Way South in Grasonville, is offering one such incentive today (plus October 18 and November 22). The restaurant will donate 50 percent of the beverage bill during lunch or dinner to the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center for anyone who mentioned CBEC. Not only can you try out Kent Narrows' excellent-looking wine list, but you can feel good doing it!
