Music Celebrations International presents: Capital Orchestra Festival 2017

Music Celebrations International presents three outstanding American student orchestras in concert for its Capital Orchestra Festival 2017. They will perform works in succession by a wide range of composers, including Beethoven, Barber, Moncayo, Hanson, Tchaikovsky, Wagner, and more. Brown University Orchestra (Providence, RI) Paul Phillips, conductor Westmont College Orchestra (Santa Barbara, CA) Michael Shasberger, conductor Perry High School Orchestra (Gilbert, AZ) Alex Zheng, conductor A complete list of selections to be performed by each orchestra will be posted when it becomes available. Featured works include Wagner's Prelude to Der Meistersinger; Moncayo's Huapango; Beethoven's Symphony No. 7; Scheherazade by Rimsky-Korsakov; Holst's Holberg Suite; Brahms's Variations on a Theme by Haydn; Serenade for Strings by Tchaikovsky; Hanson's Rhythmic Variations on Two Ancient Hymns; Music for a Theme from Shelley by Barber, and Brass Knuckles by James Phillips.
