Humpday Happiness Meditation

Facilitator: Karen Lorenz Bio- Karen began her meditation journey in 1973 to complement a personal yoga regimen she was doing at the time. She continued to explore meditation with a teacher from the Himalayan Institute in the 1980’s in Memphis TN. Originally introduced to this simple technique she has cultivated her practice and added various new aspects and techniques over the years. Since 2009 she has personally benefited from direct teachings of the Kagyu masters to deepen and stretch her meditation practice. Description - Meditation is an approach to training the mind, similar to the way that fitness is an approach to training the body. But many meditation techniques exist — so how do you learn how to meditate? In this class we welcome beginners, long time mediattors & especially those who have struggled in the past. There is no need to struggle! Drop by and meditate with us. The Center provides a safe space, & seating (both cushions & chairs). We start at 6 pm each Wednesday and practice various easy to learn techniques that will benefit you. The practice will last about 45 minutes; short meditation techniques will be described & practiced each week. We will pass the basket at the end of each practice. All proceeds will go to support the Gampopa Center.
