Marvin Ross: Monuments Man
This special exhibition explores the life of Marvin Ross, a member of the ''Monuments Men''-- the Monuments, Fine Arts, and Archives Section of the Allied Forces during World War II. This group of curators, architects, and historians identified and recovered art stolen by Nazi forces. After the war, Ross joined the Hammond-Harwood House board and served on the furnishings committee in the 1950s and 1960s. He was responsible for acquiring many of the important collection pieces in the museum.
