Pawject Runway

Show Your Soft Side and Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS) will hold the fifth annual Pawject Runway, presented by Pet Valu. At the hippest fashion show on four paws, Softies—big, animal-loving influencers from the Show Your Soft Side campaign—will strut the runway “modeling” some of the adorable dogs and cats available for adoption from BARCS. Proceeds from the event will benefit BARCS and its mission to find forever homes for homeless and abandoned animals, and Show Your Soft Side as it continues to change the mindset of young people who view torturing defenseless animals as tough. Softie models this year include Baltimore Ravens Lawrence Guy, Ryan Jensen, Carl Davis, Alex Lewis and Chris Moore as well as Philadelphia Eagle Torrey Smith, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighters Dan Root and Dave Daniecki, and Baltimore Blasts William Vanzela and Vini Dantas. Big Softies, Frank Remesch, general manager of Royal Farms Arena, and MMA’s John Rallo will serve as chairs for the event. Pawject Runway begins at 6 p.m. with drinks, heavy hors d’oeuvres, a cuddle corner and selfie station with four-legged super models, and live and silent auctions. The fashion show, outfitted by Pet Valu, begins at 8 p.m., with MMA television personality Nick Ehrlich and 98 Rock’s Kirk McEwen emceeing the evening. On-site adoptions of animals featured in the runway show are encouraged. All guests are invited to attend an after party where they can mingle with the modeling Softies at Hotel Indigo.
