Rotary's Oyster Roast

Fundraiser for the WWI Memorial Fountain

The fountain was built in 1938 by the City of Cambridge and Dorchester County to honor the 38 men from Dorchester County that made the supreme sacrifice in World War I. The Cambridge Rotary Club repaired the Fountain in 1986 and again in 2012. Typically, the funds raised from the Oyster Roast are used for improvements or for maintenance, but this year we need to repair stones that have been removed by vandals. This year's Oyster Roast will be held at Long Wharf Park from noon to 4 PM and will feature oysters roasted, scalded and on the half shell. There will be dogs and burgers for the non-believers. Music will be provided by Byrd Dog and the Road Kings. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased from any Cambridge Rotary member or at the Dorchester Chamber of Commerce, 528 Poplar St., Cambridge, MD 21613
