Annapolis 9/11 Heroes Run

Uniting communities to honor the sacrifices of those heroes from September 11th and the wars since, the Annapolis 9/11 Heroes Run includes a 5K and 1M Family Fun Run held on Sunday, September 17th, 2 p.m. at the Navy-Marine Corp Memorial Stadium. Hosted by the Travis Manion Foundation, the 9/11 Heroes Run series was inspired by Marine 1st Lt. Travis Manion, a Naval Academy graduate, who was killed by a sniper in Iraq in April 2007 while saving his wounded teammates. Registration prices vary from $20–100 and all proceeds support the Foundation’s programs assisting veterans and families of fallen service members, and promoting character among today’s youth.
