Beckwith Apple Festival

Satisfy your sweet tooth early in the morning and sift through bargains at the Beckwith Apple Festival on October 21st, held by Beckwith United Methodist Church in the Neck District, a few miles outside of Cambridge. This event features a large flea market (starting around 7 a.m.) and crafts, apples, apple dumplings, apple pies, apple cider, homemade soups, chicken salad sandwiches, hot dogs, fried oyster sandwiches, and BBQ chicken. Food service starts at 9 a.m. Come early! The festival usually ends by 1 or 2 p.m. To rent a flea market table, call Betty Smith at 410-228-6916. The event happens at the Neck District Volunteer Fire Hall at the corner of Route 343 (Hudson Road) and Cook Point Road. While you’re there, make a stop at the nearby Spocott Windmill, and see the windmill in action, an event that happens only a couple of times each year.
