Nanticoke River Jamboree

Description:

In celebration of Dorchester County’s rich African American heritage, the “Slave Dwelling Project Comes to Dorchester” will bring public awareness to lesser known historic structures associated with enslaved people Friday, October 13th (7 p.m.), Saturday, October 14th (9 a.m.), and Sunday, October 15th (10 a.m.).

The event will begin with a Friday opening reception at the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Visitor Center with an introductory presentation by Mr. McGill, followed by a candlelight vigil at the Bayley Slave Cabin with live vocal performances.

On Saturday, a living history event at Handsell will feature two presentations and discussions, cooking demonstrations, and so much more.

Sunday morning will wrap up the weekend festivities.
