Heart of Hospice Tours
Caring for Life throughout the journey with illness and loss
Myths and misunderstandings about hospice still persist and cause some people to avoid considering it for themselves or their loved ones. As a result, there are still too many people dying in our community without the benefit of hospice care focused on helping them live their remaining days with dignity, comfort and peace.
To dispel such myths as “hospice care hastens death" and "limits a dying person’s choices,” we have begun offering free, one-hour, open to the community Heart of Hospice Tours at our Pasadena campus on the second Wednesday and fourth Thursday of every month.
Individuals are very welcome to join any of the scheduled tours. However, we would also be delighted to schedule special group tours.
No one will be asked for money on these tours. Our goal is one of education. It is our hope that, after taking the tour, people will talk about it and encourage other people to take it. Over time, we are hoping to build a growing circle of people in our community who understand how hospice helps people live until they die and who are “hospice myth-busters."
Tours take place on the second Wednesday of each month from 11 a.m. to noon and on the fourth Thursday of each month from 4 to 5 p.m.
