Art Exhibit: 8 Takes on Architecture
Reception Friday, October 13, 6:30 – 8 pm. Free and open to the public. Photography, drawing and painting by 8 artists Howard Batchelor, film photography Robert Cavenagh, digital photography Jonathan Frazier, oil painting Patricia Walach Keough, oil painting, monotypes Michael Lahr, oil and casein painting, charcoal drawing Susan Nichols, oil painting, mixed media Kim Stone, pastel Leon Yost, digital photo assemblages Architectural forms, when used as artistic subject matter, offer deep insight into how we have ordered the spatial world to meet our human needs and aspirations. Buildings frame our existence. Subject matter such as rural, small town, and urban imagery will be expressed in a variety of media. Each of the eight artists, showing 5 – 8 pieces each, brings a unique perspective to this common theme. Man’s created environment as a subject of art is revealing of who we are, what we do, and what we treasure.
