Bill Murray, Jan Volger & Friends

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announces the addition of a one-night only performance by noted actor and recipient of the Center’s 2016 Mark Twain Prize for Comedy, Bill Murray, who teams up with acclaimed German cellist Jan Vogler, violinist Mira Wang, and pianist Vanessa Perez, to present a spirited evening of music and literature. In this rare live appearance, Murray brings his irresistible charm and wit—as both singer and narrator—to the readings of classic American poetry and prose including works by Hemingway, Twain, and Whitman, alongside musical selections by Bernstein, Gershwin and others as it explores American values in music and literature and showcases the bridges artists have built between America and Europe.
