Oil Painting: Creating Color Harmonies

Academy Art Museum

Brad will guide the students through easy to understand exercises to create vibrant and harmonious paintings. Starting with a limited palette of the three primaries and white, students will explore practical ways to apply what they know about color. Students will begin by learning to use their palettes as a color/value tool. Exercises will review basic color mixing and then move on to learning about and working with color schemes. Using photo references, the class will apply this new information to their own work or work from prints or slides provided by the teacher. This is a great class for the beginning oil painter or for those artists interested in creating more dynamic paintings.

Tuesdays for 6 weeks: October 30 – December 11 (no class on November 20/Thanksgiving)
