Albrecht Dürer: Master Prints
The Mitchell Gallery Presents the visionary and imaginative Renaissance Printmaker Albrecht Durer (1471-1528).
Visionary and imaginative Renaissance Master Printmaker Albrecht Dürer (1471-1528) revolutionized printmaking into an independent art form in the 15th-century. Rediscover the work of this virtuoso painter, etcher and draftsmen in this exhibition of 30 woodblock prints and engravings.
The range of subjects include narratives from the Old and New Testaments, mythology, portraits, and images of saints. The exhibition also examines several works by some of Dürer’s most influential contemporaries: Albrecht Altdorfer and Martin Schongauer, among others.
