Go with Your Gut: The Importance of Fermented Foods
at Whole Foods Market Annapolis
Go with Your Gut: The Importance of Fermented Foods Thursday September 27th, 6:30pm-8:00pm
Guest Speaker: Katie Tovar
Katie Tovar is a Transformational Health Coach, Yoga Teacher, and In-Home Cooking Instructor from Potomac, Maryland. Currently residing in Crownsville, Katie is eager to bring holistic health and healing to the masses through her brand, lokahmotive. She received her undergraduate degree at Elon University in International Business and International Studies. Most recently Katie served as a volunteer for the Peace Corps in Costa Rica (’16-’18) and received her health coaching certificate through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. During her service and after months of doctors’ visits and rounds of medications later, Katie was diagnosed with Celiac’s Disease. Motivated to heal her gut, Katie began brewing kombucha—a fermented green tea drink. The town people she served learned this craft from Katie, and sold the kombucha at local fairs and events, further expanding their economic development.
Join us as Katie will be sharing her knowledge and talents to the Annapolis Whole Foods community. In this class, she will go in depth on the importance of gut health and how fermented foods can be used as a health food to positively affect overall wellbeing. She will also explain and demonstrate the fermentation process of kombucha for you to do at home, and will give samples of kombucha, sauerkraut, and pickles. Cost: $10. Per Person. Register online. Registration fees may apply.
REFUND POLICY: A full refund can be issued if requested AT LEAST 1 week prior to class. Under no circumstances will a transfer of funds or refund be issued without 1 week notice; no exceptions.
