Two-Day Faux Batik and Batik Workshop

Level: All levels
Limit: 10 students
Workshop Instructor: Jean-Marie Baldwin
Date: Saturday-Sunday, October 6-7, 2018
Time: 10am – 4pm
Location: Chester Springs Studio, Historic Yellow Springs

In the Faux Batik and Batik two-day workshop we will be working with hot wax on silk, creating images through layering of dyes, using the wax as a resist. Instruction and demos for both Faux Batik and true Batik will be covered. We will approach both applications in a more painterly manner than the traditional batik. One may work subjectively or abstractly. Students will have at least two finished pieces upon completion of workshop. All levels of experience are welcomed.

All materials are provided by instructor.
