Fiddler on The Roof

Presented by Church Hill Theatre

Based on Sholem Aleichem’s stories by special permission of Arnold Perl Set in the bustling village of Anatevka, the story centers on a poor dairyman named Tevye and his five daughters. With the help of a colorful and tight-knit Jewish community, a matchmaker attempts to find fitting husbands for the young women. Tevye hopes to instill his daughters with traditional values in the face of changing social mores and the growing anti-Semitism of Czarist Russia. Fiddler’s universal theme of tradition cuts across barriers of nationality and religion, leaving audiences crying tears of laughter, joy and sadness.
