Unique, funny, and thought-provoking barely sums up experiencing the captivating and critically acclaimed Blue Man Group, which is currently touring for a limited time in Washington, D.C. at Warner Theatre.

Each performance is original and contains about a dozen different acts, like creating artwork from the neon paint splatter of beating drums or interacting with the audience by creating a two-dimensional and three-dimensional dance party or even parodying Apple’s iPad with the Blue Man’s GiPad.

For the first time ever, the tour now features multiple high-tech screens that move and expand around the stage. “Until now, we have never mounted a touring version of our theatrical production,” says Blue Man Group co-founder Philip Stanton. “The main reason for this is we needed to find a way to transform theaters of all shapes and sizes into spaces in which the Blue Man can intimately connect with the audience, where the audience can become engaged with the spirit of the show and of the Blue Man himself.”

I especially enjoyed the integration of social media, pop culture, and positive messages that complemented the comedy. “Our goal with all of our productions is to help audience members reconnect with their own sense of discovery and with their own sense of what is possible in their lives,” explains Stanton.

This limited engagement tour has 16 shows that run March 23-27, 30, 31 and April 1-3. For more information, visit warnertheatre.com or call 202-783-4000. To purchase tickets, visit livenation.com, ticketmaster.com or call 800-551-7328.
