Sneak Peek
There's a new family place in Centreville, ready to serve excellent homemade meals to all. The menu is so extensive (lunch is five pages long; dinner, six) that you're bound to find something great that suits your individual taste. Joshua's Family Restaurant and Lounge is a welcome addition to Centreville's dining scene. Located within walking distance of the courthouse, the restaurant is convenient for downtown business people. Families near and far are attracted by the fabulous kids' menu. When you enter, you are ensconced in the subdued ambience: the soft, amber lighting and tasteful décor make you feel welcomed. Large and airy, tables are spaced far enough apart that you won't have to worry about hearing your neighbor's conversation. For starters, try the stuffed mushrooms: baby portabellas cradling sweet, melt-in-your-mouth crab imperial ($10.99). The sunken treasure salad offers a trove of shrimp and scallops cooked in white wine tucked beneath garden greens and topped with yummy lump crabmeat ($11.99). Meat lovers, get ready! Outstanding New York strip steak, filet mignon, (cut in-house) and fresh charbroiled burgers are available, cooked to perfection. Particularly noteworthy is the baked pork chop: moist meat—that looks like it could be prime rib—basted in plum sauce ($13.99). The fried shrimp platter, breaded by the chef, is a specialty ($9.99). And for lunch, the shrimp salad sandwich—jumbo steamed shrimp chopped and tossed in the house's special sauce and served on a warm croissant—is a winner. The menu also features the popular chicken marsala , made with fresh chicken, mushrooms, and sweet wine sauce over linguini ($8.99). The motto at Joshua's? “The best product for a great price.” And with such a variety, including one of the best cream of crab soups you and your family will ever have, it's easy to see why. Open Sunday through Thursday 11 a.m.–9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m.–10 p.m. |
