If Jake Griffith has his way, his name will be set in stone in Easton High School’s record books. “I expect to become one of the top-five leading scorers in EHS lacrosse history,” he says, in anticipation of his senior season. After making the varsity team as a freshman, Griffith is accustomed to grand expectations. And not just for himself, either. “We expect to win States,” he says, speaking for the rest of his team. Over the last three years, Griffith has excelled as an attack man. This year, however, he expects to take his play to another level. “I feel obligated to the rest of the team to have my best season,” he says. “That is my expectation.” A lack of confidence is clearly not an issue for Griffith. As such, leadership comes as natural as goal scoring. “Offensively, I consider myself one of the leaders of this team,” he says. Griffith experienced success early on in high school. Four years later, he’s ready to parlay that success into an opportunity at the next level. He’s decided to attend Susquehanna University, where he’ll play varsity lacrosse. Easton High School Head Lacrosse Coach Dennis Keenan has welcome words for Griffith’s next coach: “I would tell the coach at Susquehanna that he is getting a hard-working, intelligent, well-rounded young man.” Keenan adds, “Jake has good skills and knowledge of the game to make the team and himself more successful. [Susquehanna’s coach] is lucky to be getting a player of his caliber.”
