Brennan Wallman

Widely considered an individual sport, golf at the high school and college levels also requires athletes to juggle the collective responsibilities of playing on a team. Wallman says the differences between golf and other team sports aren’t very prominent. “The top four scores count from each team, so just like other sports, you can’t slack off because your teammates rely on your performance,” he says. “It’s really just like any other sport, except that when you’re playing, you’re on your own.” Conversely, Wallman’s individual success at EHS has lead to the collective success of his team. Last year, Wallman finished in the top 30 at the state golf tournament and EHS finished 4th among 1A/2A-sized schools at the same tournament. Now a senior, Wallman plans to win individual and team championships this season. He came to Easton two years ago after moving from Chesterfield, Va. He’s been an Honor Roll student throughout high school, and previously won the West Virginia Junior Amateur tournament. Wallman hopes to play golf at a Division-1 college next year, potentially Duke University or the University of Maryland at College Park, where he will pursue a career in investment banking.
