70.3 Miles of Self-inflicted Pain

Eagleman Ironman Triathlon tests competitors’ wills

Cambridge’s Eagleman Ironman 70.3 triathlon is one of the most competitive races of its kind. Composed of a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike ride, and 13.1-mile run, it draws over 2,000 competitors each year and recently won the Best Race Support award from Triathlete magazine due to the large crowds it garners each year. Spectators can watch the triathletes enter the Choptank to start the race in heats beginning at 6:45 a.m. on Sunday, June 14 at Great Marsh Park in Cambridge. Call 410-964-1246 or visit tricolumbia.org for more information.
