Fun Romantic Things to Do in Lieu of Flowers on Valentines Day
- Create your own wine tasting with friends
- Wall Climbing at your local gym
- Pick a town on a map within a 1-2 hour drive and go there for lunch. Spend the day exploring somewhere you’ve never been.
- Volunteer at a local charity
- Spend the day the Smithsonian or other local museum
- Take a pottery, painting, photography class at your local arts council
- Bake desserts together
- Go to a local salon/spa and pamper yourselves with his and her massages, or get a whole new look with a haircut, color job, etc.
- Rent your top favorite Romantic Movies of all time (refer to our list below) and have a movie marathon in your pj’s all day.
- Visit your local vineyard or craft brewery.
- Write your sweetheart a poem all about them. (It doesn’t have to rhyme or be in sonnet form) just put in words what makes them special to you.
- Cook them a special meal.
- Go on a nature hike together (holding hands)
- Create a photo collage for them of photos that capture your good times together.
- Do a chore around the house (ie clean the garage, hall closet, etc.) that you’ve been procrastinating about getting done as a special gift to them.
- Do something nice for your sweetheart’s car- clean the inside, wax the outside….
- Plan and prepare a special meal together, something gourmet that’s a treat such as lobster or filet mignon
- Buy tickets to a concert that you know your sweetheart would really enjoy a
- NOTHING... Consider not celebrating the holiday this year. Make up for it by going out for a nice dinner a few months from now, when you won't have to buy into the rampant commercialism of it or fight for a reservation.
