Le Magnifique
The circus, so to speak, comes to town, November 1 through 19! Cirque du Soleil will perform Corteo under the "big top"-the Grand Chapiteau, which seats 2,600 spectators-in D.C. on the site of the former Washington Convention Center, now the City Center Parking Lot. The conceptual show is set as a festive parade imagined by a clown, featuring acrobatic stunts, theatrical fun, comedy, and spontaneity, in a mysterious space between Heaven and Earth. Tickling the Ivories
One of the most highly revered contemporary pianists will visit Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts in Annapolis on November 5. NBA All Star Gilbert Arenas leads the Washington Wizards on their quest for a third straight playoff appearance. The season begins on the road in Cleveland November 1, but the Wiz return to D.C.'s Verizon Center November 4 vs. Boston Celtics. In all, Washington will play seven home games this month. 3,260 Miles of Nile
Mystery of the Nile is the newest IMAX film to be shown at the Maryland Science Center in Baltimore. From its source in the highlands of Ethiopia to its delta in the Mediterranean Sea, no explorer has been able to navigate the Nile River's entire length in a single expedition-until now. Viewers will feel like they are traveling alongside explorers on their epic adventure down 3,260 miles of river in the world's most remote regions. Continues through the New Year. Tale of Two Cities
The Maritime Republic of Eastport battles the City of Annapolis in the 9th Annual Tug of War on November 4 across the mighty flow of Spa Creek. A Silver Screen Spectacular
The 4th Annual Annapolis Film Festival will be screened at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts and Crown Harbour 9 Theatres (both in Annapolis) November 10-12.
