Atmosphere, atmosphere, atmosphere-the newest restaurant addition to the inner West Street corridor is taking upscale dining to new heights with its sophisticated architectural design and décor by well-known D.C. restaurant architects Adamstein & Demetriou. This is the architectural team's first Annapolis project-and, based on the beauty of the blue-tiled walls, rich expanses of wood, and exposed brick, it's likely to be the first of many.
Executive chef Jose Picazo's menu focuses on Mediterranean cuisine using fresh local ingredients and includes modern versions of classic Greek and Spanish dishes. Featuring an extensive wine list and innovative signature cocktails, including the Mediterranean Martini, this is the perfect restaurant for those who like to nibble and graze. Tapas-style dishes enable diners to try a variety of textures and tastes.
A dish to try is the individual Turkish-style pizza, called a pide. The Olympiacos pide features tomatoes, artichokes, portobellos, kalamata olives, and feta cheese.
Paella de marisco, kavourokeftedes-Greek style crab cakes-and contemporary Spanish potatoes called patatas bravisimas-are some of Picazo's favorite selections.
