This Sunday, November 11th, is dedicated to honoring and thanking all military personnel who have served and protected the United States. Here are a few Veterans Day ceremonies, celebrations, and events happening throughout the day.

The new USS Sioux City is one of the Navy’s newest warships. It was built in Marinette, Wisconsin and is a Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) that will operate in waters close to the shore. The vessel also has a helicopter pad, a ramp for small boats and can be used by small assault forces. Celebrate the commissioning of the PCU Sioux City with various festivities throughout the week.
Friday, November 9th, 1–9 p.m.
Grab your ice skates and join Quiet Waters Park for the opening day of its ice rink. Skates, helmets, and walkers are available for rent, and a variety of food items served by Caliente Grill can be enjoyed in the Café.
Friday, November 9th, 6 p.m.
Join Friends of the Light House for its annual Bountiful Harvest. VIP ticket holders will receive early entry at 6 p.m. and advanced access to delicious food provided by top local chefs, a preview of auction items, and a swag bag. All guests will enjoy live music, an open bar, delicious food, and a live auction. Funds raised will support the Light House Shelter.
Friday, November 9th, 6 p.m.
The Navy and University of Maryland men's basketball teams with square off on the court for the first time since 1985 during the 2018 Veterans Classic. The Terps and Midshipmen will play at 8:30 p.m. following Providence vs. Wichita State at 6 p.m.
Saturday, November 10th, 8–10 a.m.
Join Saint Andrew's Day School for its 5th Annual Turkey Trot and 1 Mile Fun Run. The course runs through the lovely Gingerville neighborhood. Proceeds from the race benefit the Saint Andrew's Day School sports programs.
Saturday, November 10th, 7:30 a.m.
The Annapolis Running Classic offers both a Half Marathon and 10K with beautiful views of the state capital. After the race, enjoy delicious soup, craft beers, fresh oyster, live music, and more.
Friday, November 9th through Sunday, November 11th
The 48th Annual Waterfowl Festival is a community-wide, three-day event that promotes wildlife conservation, the art of sporting culture, and life on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Experience wildlife art; buy, sell, and trade antique decoys and hunting artifacts; and watch dock dogs, retriever, fishing, and birds of prey demonstrations. New this year is the “Beer Wetland”, which will feature local craft beers and food in a fun atmosphere.
Saturday, November 10th, 9 a.m.–1 p.m.
Join the Kent Center for its 12th annual Goosebump Jump. Make a team, gather support, and ready your costumes for a quick dip in the Bay for a good cause. Proceeds from this event will provide flexible and accessible transportation options to promote community inclusion and independence.
Saturday, November 10th, 9 a.m.
Visitors and residents are invited to celebrate and support history at the Ocean City Life-Saving Station Museum’s Storm Warriors 5K run and walk. All proceeds from the event will go to the Life-Saving Station Museum for exhibits, artifact collection and building upkeep.
Friday, November 10th, 12–4 p.m.
The Model Boat Show returns for its sixth year. This free event is open to the public, and features model builders from throughout the region, model-making demonstrations, and kids’ activities.
Saturday, November 10th, 3–6 p.m.
Join the Tidewater Inn in downtown Easton during the Waterfowl Festival for the 7th Annual Brew & Oyster Brawl. Enjoy live music by Mule Train, a stationed menu featuring oysters every which way, and an open beer and wine bar.

The 45th annual Maryland Irish Festival returns to the Timonium Fairgrounds. Enjoy traditional Irish food and drinks, performances by internationally-recognized musical groups, children’s activities, cultural exhibits from Ireland, festive contests, various vendors, and more.
Saturday, November 10th, 12:30–4 p.m.
Wine, food, art... what more could you need? Join The Arc Central Chesapeake Region for its second annual Vine Arts. Enjoy great food, Dodon wine, and a pop-up gallery where you can purchase art from talented local artists. At the end of the day, bid on a live plein air piece painted at the event!
